Get Smart: 79°West, Innovate Carolina Offer Learning and Networking Programs

Tapping the deep well of expertise at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, 79°West Innovation Hub is providing entrepreneurs, business professionals and others with new opportunities to network and learn at their innovation hub, coworking and co-warehousing space in the MOSAIC community. The hub also delivers on connectivity with its 1 GB up and down high-speed fiber internet.

Through skills-based workshops, fireside chats and other programs, Innovate Carolina has teamed with 79°West to provide people in Chatham County and neighboring counties the chance to learn and practice skills to build their networks, create startups or boost their businesses.

Innovate Carolina and 79°West make for natural programming partners, given each’s strengths and missions. Innovate Carolina, UNC’s central team for innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development, exists to help innovators take new technologies to market through commercialization and launch new startup ventures, and 79°West is designed to be a hotspot for innovation. Its 20,000 square-foot flexible workspace offers coworking, innovation programming, private offices and co-warehousing as well as conference room and event space.

So far, Innovate Carolina has offered sessions such as “Supercharge Your Brand with the Power of Digital Content,” “Unlocking Value Through Understanding Your Customer,” and “How to Fund Your Business.”

Fireside Chats have featured real estate developer and UNC Board of Governors member Kirk Bradley and Dane Barnes, co-founder of Shibumi Shade. Future 79°West events can be found here: https://www.79westhub.com/events-1.
