The latest 79° West Breakfast Club featured MOSAIC developer Kirk Bradley, who delivered a forward-looking message centered on growth, infrastructure and the power of community involvement.
As the President, CEO, and Chairman of Lee-Moore Capital Company, Bradley’s investment in the Chatham area runs deep. “My family has been here a long time. It’s an area of the state with a lot of potential that wasn’t always able to maximize that potential,” he says, reflecting on his early involvement with the Governors Club and his company’s Sanford roots.
“Either we’re growing, or we’re dying,” he shares. “That’s one of the reasons I got so involved civically.”
A Vision for Sustainable Growth and Infrastructure
Bradley’s vision for sustainable economic growth has been realized in a big way in Pittsboro and beyond. He highlighted the scale of planning already underway, including thousands of acres of thoughtfully designed development supported by expanded water systems, roads and utilities.
Bradley also emphasized the role of education and workforce development. Best-in-state community colleges and strong partnerships with school systems in surrounding counties have helped the region take shape as a hub for advanced manufacturing and healthcare innovation. As more major employers like Wolfspeed add opportunities to the community, strategies based on infrastructure-readiness will allow Chatham to keep pace.
Why Civic Engagement Matters Now
Bradley’s “Build it, and they will come” philosophy included a call-to-action for Breakfast Club attendees. As the Chatham area reaches an inflection point, there is a real opportunity for individuals to make a personal contribution towards positive growth. He stressed the importance of participating in community organizations, like the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, the Chatham County EDC, or other nonprofits, and ongoing civic conversations.
“Get involved and make your community a better place,” says Bradley.
