There wasn’t a single person in the audience who left Stephanie Nielson’s recent talk unmoved. At the May 79°West Breakfast Club, Nielson inspired the gathered crowd.
Nielson, who will celebrate the grand opening of her barre3 Chatham Park location, on Friday, June 6, shared her personal story with courage and heart.
Stephanie and her husband Christian survived a plane crash, then parents of four young children, but Stephanie’s body was 83% covered in third and fourth degree burns and Christian had 40% burn coverage and a broken back.
Five months in a coma and three years of follow-up surgeries sometimes left Stephanie without the will to live, she shares.
For Every Body
At some point during her recovery, Stephanie decided “I would never take my body for granted again. I would reclaim my role as a valuable woman and mother.”
She began barre3 workouts in 2019, and they “offered a profound sense of her body and all it had been through.” She knew she wanted to help others move, love and appreciate their bodies.
And that is exactly what she plans to do at barre3 Chatham Park. She says the classes are centered in mindfulness, cardio and strength and for “everybody and every body.”
Seventeen years after the accident, Stephanie and Christian – and with three of their five children in attendance – exude joy and gratefulness.
Chatham County residents for eight years, they eagerly welcome the community to their studio and a new chapter of wellness at MOSAIC.
Stephanie is also author of the blog NieNie Dialogues and the book Heaven is Here: An Incredible Story of Hope, Triumph, and Everyday Joy.
