Go Team—Charger Boulevard Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday, August 22, leaders from Chatham Park, MOSAIC, Town of Pittsboro and Chatham County Schools plus interested community members joined the Northwood High School Cheerleaders and Band to celebrate the opening of the new Charger Boulevard—a $3 million Chatham Park investment that will reduce traffic congestion for the school.

The opening of the road represents the combined efforts of public and private entities working together to improve infrastructure for the greater good. Mayor Cindy Perry said the project was a “community effort,” and Chatham Park’s contribution is “just monumental.”

Chatham County Schools Superintendent Dr. Derrick Jordan called the project “a labor of love,” noting how he felt fortunate to have partners in Chatham Park who are committed to providing safe transport to stakeholders served by the school. Dr. Bradford Walston, Northwood High School Principal, added this new road makes getting students to school safely 1,000 times more efficient.
