MOSAIC developer Kirk Bradley and his team are helping make North Carolina a leader in the innovation economy. 79°West, MOSAIC’s innovation hub, provides entrepreneurs and small business owners with infrastructure and programs to grow their ideas and support operations.
In an exclusive interview with Vanessa Jenkins, EVP of Preston Development, Bradley and CFO Kevin Scanlon are joined by UNC-CH Innovate Carolina leaders Michelle Bolas and Sheryl Waddell to discuss how the hub will meet the needs of North Carolina’s growing innovator population.
In the interview, Bolas and Waddell explain 79°West was developed using lessons learned from Innovate Carolina’s work with Launch Chapel Hill, a successful accelerator program for entrepreneurs and local businesses. They also share 79°West is the longitude between Chapel Hill and Pittsboro; therefore, they selected the name because their intent is to grow the relationship between UNC faculty, researchers and alumni with MOSAIC’s innovator community.
In addition to offering coworking, private offices and collaboration space, 79°West will support Chatham County innovators by delivering cutting-edge programming, enabling members to learn best practices, establish valuable connections, and develop skills to elevate their venture.
