79°West: Breakfast Club

In March, we’re featuring Scott Maitland. While still in law school at UNC, Scott conceived and launched Top of the Hill Restaurant & Brewery, one of the state’s oldest brewpubs, winning more than 70 Best of the Triangle awards and serving as a cornerstone of Chapel Hill’s entrepreneurial and civic life.

For more than 20 years, Scott has taught entrepreneurship at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, where he works closely with founders and students on idea formation, customer discovery, capital strategy, and the practical realities of building businesses. He continues to mentor early-stage entrepreneurs across the Triangle.
